Your Stars New Moon 29 August 2011
Posted on 30 August 2011
A new Moon in Virgo invites consideration of the sign of the Harvest Goddess, often thought of as the zodiac’s goody two-shoes and class swot, or as a hypochondriac or willing drudge. All signs have their mysteries, however, and some of Virgo’s are considered in the forecast for said sign below. Suffice to say that with Jupiter and Venus strong at this new Moon, Virgo’s attributes as bringer of abundance are emphasised.
Jupiter, lord of possibility, is currently ‘at station’, meaning apparently stationary, an illusion created by the relative speeds of Earth and Jupiter…this by tradition lends the giant planet especial power. Given that the autumn equinox – exact at 9.05 AM GMT 23 September – ushers in a more serious looking October, we are all invited to be industrious and abundant meantime. Let much-maligned Virgo set you an example.
Virgo
Consider for a moment, the symbol of your much misunderstood zodiac sign, the Corn Goddess. She is industrious and purposeful, as one has to be at harvest time, but she is also discriminatory, sorting the wheat from the chaff. Her virginal quality comes not from her sexuality – she is, au contraire, fruit-bearing – but from her search for purity (and the perfect, gluten free cup-cake).
Today’s auspicious new Moon opens a month to play super-Virgo, and a grand trine of earth signs – of which you are one – makes this a time of empowerment. By all means weave industriously at your loom in the tower, but also take the chance to present yourself as leader, mover and shaker. The role of dutiful support act – so easy for Virgo to slip into – isn’t going to deliver your best chances. You currently have a shot at bigger prizes (Jupiter insists, and suggest they may involve overseas).
The theme of taking power runs through both professional and personal realms. Venus the love goddess is in your skies until the 15th and puts romance and sex powerfully in the mix. With Pluto involved, best not give away your power to people who abuse your goodwill. Pluto’s currents run deep, so keeping relations stable and orderly is hard – the planetary picture is more suggestive of Wuthering Heights. (especially for those of you born this weekend),
Venus also accentuates the glamour factor, and while Virgo style is understated – consider Ingrid Bergman for example – this month you are a particularly attractive catch. Forget going without a birthday party – far better to max it up, budget permitting. The dizzy full Moon weekend of the 10th is ideal for gatherings, less so for one-on-one chats.
Mercury, Virgo’s planetary ruler, is now out of its retrograde cycle and heading your way, facilitating communications travel and getting things done. Mercury’s arrival in its home skies (yours) on the 9th makes the following fortnight highly favourable for meetings and contracts. Have your research done and your pencils sharpened, and be decisive about what’ is put on the table. Time for that famous discretion, discrimination and detail-chewing side of the Virgo character.
Libra
Adversity has its uses. Things going wrong, events running out of your control and touches of seeming ‘bad luck’ are there to point out the holes in your game plan. At least, that’s one positive spin on life under Saturn. Another is that things going right show you the importance of preparation and planning, and remind you what a gargantuan effort it can takes to keep life on an even path – evenness supposedly being what Libra is all about.
In reality, Libra’s Scales are apt to veer wildly rather than settle, making Libra king or queen of the mood swing. At present, however, you cannot afford any such indulgences. Grimly maintaining your personal infrastructure, doggedly counting out the pound coins needed for your pleasure (and you do need pleasure), and determinedly reducing the amount of stuff in your life – these are the classic patterns of a Saturn transit, Make do and mend. Show a steely face to your doubters (consider the trials of fellow Librans David Cameron and Arsene Wenger).
Underlying this difficult patch – difficult even if wildly successful) is the need to shed a skin. This is a period of personal reconstruction. Today’s new Moon, next to ruler Venus, is in the most cloistered sector of your ‘scope. Even if you aren’t holed up in a hermitage or taking a series of Reiki intensives, the small inner voice is all-important now. Indeed, the schism between public and private faces concern is wide for the next couple of weeks. Healing, excavating your personal (and family) history and a wholesome daily routine are all smiled upon. Quiet persistence, a ruthless attitude to your must-do list come ahead of parades of your power. Nurse your energy levels up to scratch.
Once the full Moon is out the way, on the 15th, you come up for air. Venus’s arrival in your (and her) skies is a pick-me-up. This being the romance goddess, the following three weeks are, good for getting picked-up in another sense. The Autumn Equinox ushers in the peerless season of Libra, when nature comes into perfect balance…whether you can follow suit is the challenge of the following month. Indeed, the Libran new moon of the 27th presents you a very different, more empowered, scenario.
Meanwhile there are battles to fight. Senior jobsworths remain a threat to your equilibrium and call for your nuanced diplomatic skills. Descending red mists are of no help. Make cool formality your default mode when dealing with officialdom.
Friends and lovers are where you find them. Here, too, late September brings clarity about your next move. This is gestation time. For those of you in commerce, the next month is a time to horse trade frantically.
Scorpio
When planets, as now, are scattered across your solar ‘scope, the issue is priorities – where do you put your energy? Since you have to fight on many fronts this month – well, not so much fight as haggle, cajole and trade – maintaining stamina is a primary issue. Everyone wants a piece of you.
Today’s new Moon marks an unusually tender moment in affairs of the heart. If you are on the outs with a certain someone, here is the opportunity to heal the rift and make things whole.
Jupiter’s role in one-on-one relationships s has been outlined in previous forecasts. Suffice to say that with the giant planet stationary at this lunation, one or other partnership has reached fruition and/or breaking point. If you’re hitched, your spouse (or ‘ex’) is more than usually entangled with your own affairs. Likewise a business partner. Money is a big part of the equation; if you’re not being drained by your other half then the converse is likely the case. Draw a few boundaries.
If you’re semi-hitched, the likelihood is that your lover demands ‘more space’. Do you grant them it? If you don’t they‘ll likely take it anyway. If you’re single, the chances of being bowled over by a dashing squire or grand lady are currently above average. Investigate any leads promptly.
The need for swift action is flagged up all month. Mercury’s retrograde cycle is now over and the silver-winged messenger buzzes through your career sector, freeing up frozen deals and making introductions.
The season of Libra, from the 23rd, brings a more downbeat mood, at least in personal matters. Still, with ruler Mars hitting the apex of your ‘scope on the 19th, throw tat Scorpionic will power into the professional arena. Some Scorpios may have been persuaded that Pluto is the ruler of your sign but Mars makes a more vigorous companion. Either way. The mismatch between the pair makes for an awkward start to your working week on the 26th.
Sagittarius
A new Moon near the peak of your solar ‘scope arrives every year around this time, but not usually with the force of today’s.
The apex of one’s horoscope represents public ambitions, the desire to make a mark and win plaudits – cue cheering crowds of Romans casting laurel wreaths in your direction – and today’s new Moon firstly highlights the amount you can get away with through brazen charm. Granted, Centaur charm often comes with a rough tongue, but public gaiety is a weapon in your current armoury.
At stake is not just your reputation and admission into some masonic sect, but proper remuneration for your efforts and the support of colleagues in your workplace, be it an artisan industry or corporate behemoth (though Sags and corporations make an uncomfortable fit).
There’s not much sense of compulsion about these stars – just simple opportunity. Thanks to Mercury’s recent retrograde there’s a lot of catching up to do in the next fortnight. The days following the full Moon of the 13th are e illuminating where obfuscated issues burst into clarity.
The autumn equinox and its ensuing month accentuate the deals and accord that can be made with friends, associates and fellow travellers. Finding out who can be leant on may arrive in October, but for now, take chances where they arrive. The days following the equinox bring fresh energy to romances and sexual liaisons. Closer by, the midnight chimes of Saturday the 3rd sound promisingly for you, as the Moon steals into your sign for an influential couple of days, perfect to set seeds or to flit sylph across public stage or private boudoir.
Capricorn
The fear of being thought dull is not exclusive to Capricorn – your fellow earth sign of Virgo shares the same odd worry. Nor is your fear without reason, because a negotiated settlement with the world – and Capricorns are all bound up with the world – requires formality, decorum and a nod to the age-old powers-that-be.
Today’s new Moon finds you at a super-favourable stretch. A triangle of planets in earth signs – of which the Goat is one – puts you in the pink where matters of heart, soul and sincere (as opposed to self-seeking) ambition are concerned. Your best hopes and plans find easy purchase in the world. Old pals can be leant on, new pals are exciting. Meaningful travels hover in the wings.
With Jupiter powerful in your fifth house, romantic liaisons have a bloom to them, with good reason to stay optimistic about recent improvements or a new partner. A few squalls can’t be ruled out, not with Mars in opposition until the 19th, but the big clashes look over.
That negotiated settlement with the world (ie a career) remains as pressing as ever – with ruler Saturn in dignity in the 10th for another year it could hardly be otherwise. Here, the month of Libra, following the Equinox, raises stakes. There’s power in your words and actions in the last week of September, with the next new Moon, on the 27th, central to your future plans. You can’t sit on your hands until then, however – a charm offensive to wrongfoot rivals and jealous colleagues is one course of action opened by Venus. Another is to sit tight, follow the rules and nod to the powers that be. The 6th and 7th find you powerfully placed.
Aquarius
Breathe a sigh of relief that August’s Mercury retrograde is over. The communications planet now moves forwards to explain just what all the shouting and confusion in August was about (especially any contretemps with you-know-who). Of particular interest are any stories that arise around the 8-10 September; information then looks wildly unreliable but your capacity to sniff out the truth is strong.
September looks like an emotional powerhouse. Today’s new Moon opens a period for digesting recent events, especially those involving one-on-one relationships, be it romantic or business partner or open foe. This is a fine month for solving financial riddles, and puzzles about where you are living and on what terms, with the division of mutually held spoils and homes a hot potato, albeit one that can juggle to your advantage.
The second half of the month brings emotional attachments to the fore, presenting you with an attractive (compulsive even) romantic target that can drag you way off the beaten track, even to the shores of some African lake. The arrival of warrior Mars in opposition from the 19th turns up the heat in a different way, accentuating disagreements with close chums and spouses. Triangulated relationships look a possibility, and call for your coolest head.
The practical side of life also becomes increasingly important as September progresses. The season of Libra, a fellow air sign, starts on the 23rd, signals a dealing with the official, hard-nosed world over the following weeks, be it in property dealings or job applications or art/science project. Get your desk clear now. A dynamic female figure may have a helpful part to play in such matters, but with your ruler, Saturn, the centre of so much attention this autumn, you’re the one in control.
Pisces
The season of Virgo marks six months since your birthday – time to draw breath and check on your progress (or lack of it). The Sun in opposition asks you to not to take your physical vigour for granted: look after yourself.
Today’s new Moon, and indeed the whole month, involves partnership. With Venus next to today’s new Moon, those of you looking for a romantic partner, or reasonable facsimile thereof, are in with a shout. Chasing an attractive proposition is no bad way to spend your time. Those wishing to refresh an existing partnership likewise have a green light, and any move to set up shop together comes with Venusian good omens.
If you’re in a relationship in crisis, Chiron poses the all-important questions; can it be healed, is it worth saving, and what is the price of doing so? It may well be a tender moment, especially for birthdays 20-23rd, calling for courage and compassion. The trick for Pisceans is not play or become the martyr. Experiences over the last seven years should have knocked that idea out of you.
The Pisces full Moon of the 12th perfects at 9 am, but is in force from Saturday midnight, making this a fine weekend to parade yourself (and/or get put on the spot by your other half). Your social connections are unfolding and rewarding at this time, the more handshakes and air kisses the better. You’re further handed a healthy streak of lust by Mars, granted the ear of idle bishops and rogue traders by Jupiter, and given the promise of easy money by Prometheus (perhaps too easy to be true).
Work is where you and how you find it. Mercury’s shift forward takes off the brakes and revives stalled deals. Keep talking, talking, talking.
Aries
This year has been and remains a long ol’ haul. Saturn in opposition lends your affairs a relentless, demanding quality even when you’re winning. Getting ahead of the game is difficult. Practicalities and fire-fighting take over if you let them.
In his guise as miserable ol’ git, Saturn can also bring trouble with the patriarchy and authority figures, or perhaps the grim ‘ex’ or ‘soon-to-be ex’ in which case it’s a matter one of reaching a just settlement. Keep things formal, not personal.
As Saturn’s influence reaches a peak in the month following the autumn equinox of the 23rd, you may like to arrange your schedule and expectations accordingly. It isn’t a matter of doom and gloom (though it might be!) but of recognising the tides of time, which is what astrology tries to do. October looks like pressure.
Today’s new Moon signals a less pressing few weeks ahead, when you are firstly playing catch-up from August, as Mercury retraces its footsteps. All manner of personal self-improvement is smiled on, no least Virgoan practices such as health, hygiene and nutrition. Oh, and work.
With your Mars ruler near the root of your chart, home and hearth remain a challenge, not least in purely physical terms. Happily, and perhaps against the run of play, the chance to make a significant wedge of the folding stuff now presents itself. The situation is promising unless, of course, there’s any illegality involved, in which case the deal becomes self-defeating. With Pluto and Jupiter involved, ethics count.
The romantic temperature is turned up by the shifts of Venus, on the 15th and Mars, on the 15th and 19th respectively. Quests to win hearts are favoured, with lots of soppy love songs for mood music. Your social life takes a turn for the better, but don’t be passive (as if).
The surprise player in your life remains the planet Prometheus, the god of sudden inspiration, whirlwind events and lightning courtships and divorces. Birthdays between 21-25 March are those who have had the strongest taste of what to expect, but Prometheus’ electricity crackles for all later in September.
Taurus
Jupiter, the planet that is playing a big part in your affairs until next spring, is currently at maximum strength, making the current lunation a potential corker. With new moon and Pluto completing a triangle of earth signs, you look quite the lightning conductor, able to receive and give orders, advance your cause with people of kindred spirit and to grow as an individual. Talking of growing, Taurean gardeners now have the greenest of fingers – get to work.
The same goes for the rest of Taurus’ kind. Put your energies into whatever is closest to your heart – kids, hobbies, your craft or your work – and you are promised pay-off. Stretch yourself. Well-planned optimism and confidence bring reward. As delineated in last month’s forecast, the current era – let’s say until your next birthday – holds particular promise for shaping, perhaps shaking up, your place in the world.
In the shorter term, ruler Venus smiles on romantic adventures, and helps you arrive at Virgo birthday parties at just the right time. The full Moon of the 11th and 12th illuminates affairs of the heart and lays on grand performances, perhaps by yourself. The Moon-in Taurus days of the16th and 17th likewise favour public appearances; grab your piece of limelight.
The autumn equinox slows things down and turns attention to matters of simple expediency and routine graft. No reason to abandon the big picture, just to work harder at its details.
Gemini
Rooted to the spot? Today’s auspicious new Moon falls near the bottom of your solar chart, and thus concerns matters of hearth, home, family and clan. One message is simple; home is where the heart is, or if it isn’t, you have a pretty barren home.
Saturn has been hammering away at this particular issue throughout the year. If you are in the right place, the current lunation invites you to cherish it, re-decorate and stabilise the family. If you would like to relocate, this autumn facilitates all the formalities to do so – the legal and property deals involved.
In 2011 matters of the heart have also been much examined, perhaps uncomfortably, a process extended by planets arriving in Libra from the 15th. Venus in your fifth solar house is always a good omen, promising a wayward poet or charming musician to enliven your social circle or capture your attention. It isn’t all trilling laughs and flirtation, however; there’s a streak of earnestness in these stars, whether about new arrivals or long term relationships that have, perhaps, become taken for granted. Either way, September and October are months to make grand romantic gestures. New relationships can provide something special.
Work and career prospects remain ambiguous or in abeyance. Here too, October may prove decisive, with the emphasis on your own initiatives rather than offers cascading from above.
Here and now you are playing catch up from August as your planet, Mercury, retraces its steps until the 9th. The faster and more completely you bring your personal communications systems up to speed – the car, the phone and the computer – the better.
Cancer
This year, and in particular this summer, have called for no small amount of bravery on your part as you confront the new terrain defined by major planets on the axes of your chart. The key word there is ‘new’, as the situation regarding career and even (alarm bells) your home, is almost certainly much transformed.
Coping with this new pattern is a long-term affair, though one chapter of the cycle comes to completion by the end of the year. This autumn you are playing for high stakes, and events around the next new Moon should make clear just what those are.
Meanwhile you have a promisingly busy month in which to make your presence felt, especially among your network of peers, colleagues, chums and helpers. This lunation has ‘people power’ or ‘posse power’ stamped on it. Most Cancerians have an extended clan – now is the time to call on it for support and even cash money (thanks to Mercury’s turnaround there’s more of that precious stuff flowing). Trade furiously. Mars in your skies sanctions a certain amount of throwing your weight around.
For singletons, it’s a case of being the hunter rather than the hunted. The full Moon of 11/12th makes a promising couple of days. Long term partnerships get a helpful lift this month, a rebirth even, though if you are born close to the midsummer solstice, you could well be staring at a crash-and-burn scenario. The days around the autumn equinox have an illuminating look about them.
Leo
Back at the desk? Delightful as your birthday season may have been, with your party gratifyingly wild, forward momentum has been temporarily checked – perhaps to let you have that blow-out – while Mercury turned backwards in your skies. The messenger planet is now fast-forwarding, making the next ten days central to catching up with stalled business and delayed deals. It’s retrieval time.
Today’s new Moon also shouts loudly about prosperity. With a powerful ‘easy money’ aspect between Jupiter and your ruler, the mighty Sun, you should certainly be alive to the chance of a fast buck, along with the chance that it may involve less than savoury goings-on. Avoid any shady dealings, which promise a mess to be cleared up over the winter. A pillar of regal rectitude, that’s you.
The involvement of Jupiter at the peak of your solar ‘scope nonetheless represents a chance to put yourself in the public gaze and get paid for your trouble. Listen hard to any big shots in your orbit.
Romance may struggle to intrude on your dialogue with your career. Things become livelier as the month progresses. The arrival of warrior Mars in Leo’s skies at the 19th opens a more decisive stage in your personal affairs, or at least, you grow weary of other’s procrastination. The social scene becomes more responsive as planets reach Libra from mid-month, providing a blast of fresh air to which your Leonine fire just has to respond.

Just a big thanks! Look forward to this every month. So well written
Hi Neil
Thanks for the H/S. Always a positive guide.
Born 18/02/73, 9pm. Seem to be going through the toughest few years, on all fronts, with no escape. Any light you can shed?
Regards
Ragga
Hmmm…it’s uncertain whether your Sun is in last degree Aquarius or first degree Pisces. With Neptune across both degrees this year and next, it doesn’t much matter (though you would surely like to find out by checking on your exact birth time and then getting a free reading courtesy of those fine astro folks ate Astro Dienst or Stariq).
Saturn’s crossed your Virgo Moon and your Libra Ascendant, so the worst is over, as in things brought to light, a possibly painful make-over put in place. My hunch is that you have to re-present yourself in a new light, astboth tougher and more ‘glam’. The ‘macro’ world is so hostile to indviduals at present that such advice looks slight. Bt Saturn in your first house – your message should not be ‘accomodation’ but ‘don’t mess’!
Dear Neil
I am a Scorpio (14.11.66) married for 20 yrs to a piscean (01.03.67). We have 4 children and are both teachers.I have health problems that are ongoing. We recently moved to a bigger house which will be a struggle to upkeep in the future on our salaries. My question is, how do you see the return of Saturn to Scorpio affecting my relationship/finances/health? I am feeling anxious that I am heading for a wake up call or endurance test and feel it would help me to understand which area of life the challenge will be in! Thank you so much for your time and wisdom on the site.
You have both been through some testing times over the last two years(Saturn moving opposite your birth-time Saturn) so don’t start vexing about 2013/14! Think of this winter as a time when your partnership is deepened and strengthened by Jupiter. Think of 2014′s saturn transit as a a time when you sit proudly atop your pile. Think of teaching as an undervalued profession but at least one where you are unlikely to be thrown out on your ear. In two years tome you likely get a promotion. Plus plus plus you are an unshakeable Scorpio (and in Chinese terms a redoubtable Fire Horse). Count your four blessings (at least) and take energy from them!
Dear Neil, Your monthly Stars are always heartening and tremendously useful. One point I’m finding puzzling is within the Pisces section about too easy to be true money by Prometheus. I know (only) a little of the Greek myth so does this mean to either not accept or to mistrust some sort of handout? Hope I’m right to skip over the punishment part of having my liver eaten by an eagle. Thank you for the information and your generosity of spirit.
I call the planet Uranus by what I and some other astrologers believe to be its right name, Prometheus. Said mythical figure was a liberator, punished by Zeus for helping humanity.
So no, you don’t have to have your liver torn out daily by an eagle! It might have felt that way a few years back when Uranus crossed your Piscean Sun, though my observation is that most Pisceans were helped by Uranus/Prometheus. It’s an unpredictable planet, however. As for any handouts, just give them a thorough inspection.
Hi Neil – thanks for such a great site.
I have a question – I’m an Aries ( 28/3/91) on the final year of my degree. I’m applying for a highly competitive postgrad in a related but different field. I’m going ahead even though there is only a small chance of success because I finally feel I have found what I want to do. Interviews are dec/jan – any help coming from the planets for me?
Many thanks.
The key phrase is ‘what I really want to do”. Saturn and Pluto are severe planets but reward commitment and single mindedness. Bonne chance!
Hi Neil,
Thank you for your monthly interpretations of the zodiacs. Thanks too for the one on one posts (they make an interesting read).
I have noticed a developing trend though. Leos, who rarely post anything, seem to have made a significant (re)-appearance this month. why now?
Many thanks,
Leonidas (30.07.72)
Not sure. Maybe they all came to after their lucky, leisurely birthday month and found that with planets now in their second house, there were bills to pay!
Hi Neil, thanks for the accurate and always helpful monthly forecasts! Also a big fan of your book. I’ve recently started a relationship with a Scorpio (10.11.84) but we’ve been caught up in a crazy power struggle with a lot of pain. I’m not sure I’ve felt this strongly about anyone before! Its such a new relationship and my head is telling me to give it up, but something inside both of us feels like we need to work through it. Are we a bad match or is there a chance things could get better? My birthday is 25.12.1983
Good match in as far as the ‘relationship planets’ overlap well. Two tough signs, Cap and Scorp, aren’t going to give in easily, though. Definitely no reason to throw in the towel just yet. Maybe a change of tactic. Less severity all round…an idea.
Hi Neil, I’ve always loved your stars since the Observer days (in fact I stopped buying that paper when you left, so it was clearly the only reason I bought it!)
I am a Gemini (31/5/72) with another Gemini 3/6/78) and we have had so many challenges in our relationship in the last 5 months. We love each other very much, and he has been very patient with me, will things start to look up for us soon?
Thanks
You two overlap in many ways, and very positively. My hunch is he’s stubborn (Taurus Moon) and you like to control (Sun-Saturn) but if you stick to being two scatty Geminis, like two birds flying around each other, all will be well. True love conquers all.
Hi Neil,
I’ve started to read your horoscopes on the Guardian, and i kept following you after there. Thanks for all the forecasts, they always fit perfectly. I’m a taurus (16.05.79, Gemini rising, Moon in Capricorn) and in a not so long, long distant relationship with a Leo, and he is getting distant since he has so much to worry career wise. Do you forth-see better times?
Supportive Jupiter remains in Taurean skies until after your birthday, then handily moves onto Gemini, your ascending sign. All good. Since Jupiter is the travel planet par excellence, maybe hop on a plane!
Hi Neil,
Today is my first time reading your site and I have to say that I’m quite amazed! I feel like I have some sort of clarity about what’s going on in my world right now. I am Gemini, born o6.16.79 and have been in some sort of a social slump since relocating about a year ago…home is where the heart is and I need to commit to some personal changes. I am married to Leo, born 07.24.83 and she has been so patient with me.
Awesome forecast Neil! I am certainly a fan!
Q
Aw shucks, thanks. I suspect you may have to be patient with your Leo partner, who is approaching a winter of challenge – achievement at all costs! – whereas the storm of a couple years go seem to have receded for you. Perfect month for you to do some home renovation and practice feng-shui thing.
Hi Neil
Is this really a good time for Taureans on the job front? It feels like the biggest of uphill struggles! I’m 08/05/1981, working on a project due in October and it just feels like such a challenge. Lots of potential but hardest work of my life, trying to change things for the better, never an easy task.
Is there light at the end of the tunnel?
Thanks Neil, you’re brilliant.
Of course it feels like the ‘hardest work of my life’ because it likely is. This is you fulfilling the demands of your Saturn Return. Don’t fret, the work you do now will pay off for years (at least seven, likely longer.) Just…DELIVER!
The stuff Jupiter is promising Taureans on the career front is slightly different, and is more ‘lucky break’ than “I earned it”. Plenty to look forward to in that regard next spring.
Having spent nearly 5 years waiting for a Scorpio (4.11.81) to show some commitment I’ve walked away and sort to change my life. No easy feat which I fought against in my mind. Affairs of the heart appear to be a blackhole is there anything round the corner for this 4.8.76 Leo. I need a bit of positivity soon
Hmmm, depending on what time of day you were born you might have a Moon in Scorpio. That would make a strong like with the 4.11.81. I’m struck by the time difference – when you got involved you were going through your Saturn Return. Now he/she is going through the same thing. Abreak makes sense. As for good things coming along – you are on a Jupiter Return in 2012, count back 12 years and figure if anything good happened then. Don’t lose heart, you’re an indomitable Leo!
Thank you for your response it has definitely given me food for thought. Should I read any significance into the parallels of saturn returns? My birth time was 4.44am.
Wow, mega Leo with Venus ascending – you look charismatic, bossy, flamboyant and capable! No wonder you ran out of patience.
The ex and saturn returns – just that he is going through what you went through a few years back, the striving for a different way of life.
2012 looks a big deal on the public front, with a Jupiter return at the apex of your chart you are going to want to see and be seen. Push your luck. And – Leo motto – Don’t Look Back.
Hi Neil
I look forward to your forecasts every month and find them amazingly accurate.
I’m a Pisces, born 6/3/62, and embarking upon a creative career despite these recessionary times! I’ve been through a hard time financially and work-wise these last few years and I’m wondering whether there’s any light on the horizon?
Thanks!
Catherine
Well there you are starting a new career in the face of adversity, that is surely ‘light on the horizon’? Saturn was in opposition to you two three years ago – doubly so, since you have Sun and Moon in The Fishes – but you’re out of that phase. My hunch is that the career issues of 15 years ago have had to go through the rinse cycle recently, but you are now emerging empowered.
Neil, Your forecasts this year have been frighteningly close! I’m Leo(31/07/62) married for 25y, and missus also Leo(12/08/67). After all these years and two grownup sons, we have reached breaking point. I have read about Leo-Leo compatibility issues. Do you think we will ever recover, as I don’t.
Thanks, Ash.
They don’t call its ‘A Pride of Lions’ for nothing..and Leos can get very stubborn. Your horoscopes look a good fit – how could they not be given your history? The one under more stress would seem to be your partner (Saturn half cycle – same as you five years or so ago). I don’t know the answer to your question, but you seem to have answered it yourself. I don’t do one-on-one sessions but an astrologer who does might help. Marriages seem to be able to to recover from almost anything.
Neil
I’m a Gemini(5/6/70) whose love life has recently been a revolving door of “wrong” men. Presently involved with a Cancer who appears to have intimacy issues. Any chance of something more serious and fulfilling developing or arriving soon?
Interesting. You have ‘relationship planets’ Venus and Mars in Cancer so hey ho, good start with the latest. Go online to Star iq or astro dienst and get a free chart, you may have a Moon in Cancer (impossible to know without a time).
I had the same Q.
does Gemini have any positive timing during this Saturn in Libra? Saturn/Pluto’s final direct will be June 2012 and September 2012. How can we utilize?
Saturn in Libra is positive for Gemini Suns, to the point where it might be easy to coast. Ignore Pluto (unless it’s right on a natal planet). In 2012 Geminis will have Jupiter in their skies, which suggests you fly in the face of restriction to make your point.
hello Neil. I’m having real trouble understanding why the Cosmos keeps sending me incomprehensable missiles. I thought Pisces were meant to be entering a more grounding time, but I’m just about to career free-fall and commit financial suicide during a recession. I’ve had on-going health issues since December and now find I’m going to be put out of work in the near future with an operation. Whatever next? I really would value some insight into the powers that are at play – it’s all just too confusing. Thanks Neil.
Pisces 21.02. 1969
Powers at play? You mean in play…I suspect 2003 was a defining moment. A change you are still working with, a defining moment even, and a very positive one. The other defining year is 1999, the decisions you took then are very much in play now, especially professionally. You may want to bail out of your career choice then. But health is surely the over-riding factor. Chiron, an asteroid I have learned to respect, is about wounds and healing, and you may have to reconcile to a process whereby you get your health and strength back. This is not a lingering issue necessarily. Focus on becoming ‘whole’ – that seems to be winter’s mission. What can one say about finances and recession? This is a harsh climate and about to get harsher, and not for any particular sign (the global historical cycle is Uranus-Pluto). Pisces are canny swimmers and you are way stronger than in that old C20. 42 – mid life crisis, there’s an astrological reason for that too.
Dear Neil
I’ve been devastated by a relationship which started on a plane from Madagascar to Paris, 3 years ago!it’s too long to go into details but both of us have been badly hurt by life and battered by past relationships.I am now back in London having met up with him for a few days but I haven’t a clue how to deal with him. He is obviously terrified of being hurt- I;m terrified of rejection -so stalemate. I need to get to grips wirh this and as they say move on? he is Saggitarius and my birthdate is 20.08.1944. thanks so much.
Lorna
You appear to be in a positive space after a trying time thanks to Saturn over your several Virgo planets (including Moon) two or more years go. Sags and Leos – fine. That’s all I can tell you, except either give it a go or don’t. How else are you going to ‘move on’?
I am Libra, 11//10/47. The last 5 years have been like climbing Everest through an avalanche of s**t. Now in a surprisingly good though insecure position, fighting wars on several fronts simultaneously, enjoying life again. I would appreciate some guidance on Pisces women, 17/03/87, 19/03/64, and general war strategy to 30/09/12. Do you do individual horoscopes ?
I don’t do individual ‘scopes, other than for chums. Go online and get one free for starters. Your Moon is in Virgo, so Piscean women are going to be a very natural fit for you, one would suspect a pattern. 17/3/87 has Moon in Libra so mutual Sun/Moon fits despite age difference. But a lady before her Saturn return and a Chap who’s been through two? Big ask. 19/3/64 looks easier, and she is on a roll currently. There is the problem of a Libran having to make up their mind! As for your ‘war strategy’ – interesting phrase. You are, frankly, in the thick of it this autumn and through to next birthday. It’s back to ’82/’83 but this time you don’t have to get steam-rollered. Be lean and mean, there’s no room for spare weight, literally or metaphorically.
Thanks, Neil, but I see that I wasn’t quite clear. Pisces 17/03/87 there will be no relationship, but I want to maintain a permanent friendship. Prospects ? Advice ?
The struggle. Assuming maximum effort how will I come out by 11/10/12 ?
New project starting 01/10/11. Prospects ?
Finally, my long-term health is an issue. Prospects ?
Sorry to ask for so much, but this is a crunch time and you’re the only clear and accurate astrologer I’ve ever found.
For 17/3/87… a perfect fit. No need to second guess anything.
A new project started on the 1st? Fine. Very hard work, more effort than you want to expend, relentless probably (Saturn on your Sun),. but very positive outcome from graft (ditto) especially if it involves talking/writing/charming (Mercury/Venus involved). Your health – Saturn asks you to be lean and frugal and take nothing for granted.
Neil,
I read your forecasts every month and have found them accurate and on the mark.
Born in Aries (28/3/63) and am frustrated with lack of upward progress at work despite working really hard. Request guidance on whether any positive fortune changes are expected any time soon.
Grateful for your response and thanks in advance!
Mixed messages Raj. Saturn in opposition has been doing favours for few Aries. On the other hand, Saturn is in positive position for you personally (trine your natal Saturn) and you can push practical matters hard this next few months. I suspect you are in ‘result’ mode. Plus Jupiter transiting your Taurus Moon is ideal for matters of inner contentment. My advice is to battle on at work, and to expect a big change of scenario next spring, when Uranus arrives on your Sun.
Hi Neil
When does this ‘career’ abundance of Jupiter kick in for Leo’s? It’s been slow since June, when all astrologers are saying career is kicking off.
I am a Leo sun, Leo rising. Auquarian moon.
Thanks so mich, Philippa
In the current climate, one hesitates to promise ‘career abundance’ (not my phrase) to any sign! Nonetheless, since you are double Leo (scary!) one would expect a grand opportunity or two to arrive this winter.
Thanks Neil!
What about love for (scary) double Leos?
Very positive this autumn!
My prenatal Eclipse is on Regulas, which is my rising. Is this also scary??
What about my Algol MC? Scarier?
Regulus rising – mediaeval monarchs would have slain for such a horoscope! (for non-initiated, a highly auspicious ‘royal’ star).
My interpretation: be a star.
I don’t ‘do’ pre-natal. The point of a birth chart seems to be…’natal’!
Algol (oo-er star) on your MC – in mediaeval times, a perfect signature for a rapacious ruler. I’m assuming you have no such ambitions…Bernadette Brady in her ‘Book of Fixed Stars’ reckons it denotes ‘a strong consuming passion’ and ‘intense sexual energy’, which fits well with the Rolling Stones, several of whom have it prominent in their birth chart. I’m a modern. therefore non fatalistic astrologer, so believe you have a choice in things. Accentuate the positive!
Thank you so much for your wisdom and for continuing to provide these ‘scopes. I’m a scorp (26.10.57. I was made redundant 3 years ago and is finding it hard to focus on what to do next. Relationship-wise I’m finding my Scorp other half difficult to pin-down/fathom. I feel like I’m wading through treacle! Can you foresee some clarity or even a pointer or two?
Hmm. Three years ago was precisely three quarters of the way round your Saturn cycle (the second one), so professional issues would come to a head then. No reason, economic climate aside, why you should be fuzzy about another move. With Mercury next to your Sun at birth, some communications or writing career seems the obvious path. Although you are Scorpio, there’s a lot of Sagittarius in your chart, so at the least give yourself a chance to roam and freewheel. My hunch is that freedom might compensate for your treacle-treading. How to suss out a Scorpio is something the other eleven signs spend quite a lot of time pondering – if you can’t do it, who can? Jupiter is in Taurus, your opposite sign, so again, space, mental or geographic, is an issue, not least with a significant other. What can you do to freshen things up for the pair of you? Hope that helps.
Aries in turmoil (19/4/84) waiting on some news mainly job/career related overseas and hoping its positive…impatient and wondering…and wondering
An impatient Aries? Whatever next. My guess is you’ll have to wait for mercury to catch up with itself, around the 9th.
Argh! Ok Neil, will just about manage till then – hoping it will be positive news on the horizon. Great site!
Neil,
Thanks again for an intriguing forecast, I’m sure I’m one of your biggest fans! Much thinking and pondering going on here about future work, lifestyle etc. Not ready to make a decision just yet, but maybe in the next 6-12 months a change of direction is due, or maybe I’ll just decide to stick with what I have at the moment. Gemini man is slipping from my radar now, but difficult to avoid him altogether as we share a workplace! But I am keeping a steadier head over him now – a one-sided relationship is no use, so the rational person witbi has decided we will just be colleagues again.
Keep up the forecasting, you seem to have quite an army of followers! X
Hi Neil,
I’m a libran (29.09.74) and I was looking back over my year, and you’ve been right again and again. I took on the beginnings of a career change process which, though relentless, I’m delighted to be pursuing. It’s a far cry from a year ago when I was underemployed in a job that didn’t suit and just ending a relationship that didn’t fit either. Having got the work side of things going in the right direction and feeling a whole load more positive I’m feeling I’d like to look into the relationship side of things now…but I’m starting a PGCE next week so do I have the time to go out looking or should I keep focused on the course?!
Maybe you’ll meet someone interesting on the course! Keep at it. You’re handling Saturn brilliantly, just the ay one should.
Hi Neil, great to find your website. Former subscriber of SHE Magazine, enjoyed your horoscopes then, so thought with closure, would google you. I’m a Virgo – birthday today. I met this great guy, Scorpio, in a social setting over 4 month period (which ended 29th Aug) and thought we connected so, so well but then at end he didn’t ask for my number, though he has my card.. Then today my ex (on & mostly off for 14 years – Pisces) made a magnanimous gesture today for my birthday – I thought we were done and dusted, particularly as I think my heart is with the Scorpion. Are able to shed any light please?
What can a mere astrologer do about a man who doesn’t take a number, or use the one on the card? I’m surprised you’re still with the Piscean after the last seven years…ell, not ‘with’, but…I guess you have to keep in mind why you split up..
Just thanks for continuing to send us this forecast. Spot on as always.
Hi Neil,
Thanks so much for continuing to provide your excellent forecasts. I am a virgo, saggitarius rising, tauren moon and 40 on 8 September. I have been feeling very indecisive for a long time now but really want a change in my life, but feel stuck. Do you think I will be able to move forward and start changing things?
Deb
Yes, we all have free will, and you have a ,ore upbeat cycle ahead of you than the one you ‘enjoyed’ 2008-10. Jupiter back and forth on your Moon this winter is a signal to change (maybe home?). Your horoscope looks pretty dynamic!
Thanks Neil. Briliant as always!
Hi Neil, Great forecast as always. I am Piscean (08.03.78) I have been working hard (since beginning of the year) for career success and as well as wanting to start a family. I was wondering when the promises of success and money will pay out? Whether i should just focus on the family? As at the moment it feels as if they are both out of reach! Thanks
You look off the hook compared to a couple of years back! In fact you are already enjoying success; you have work with prospects and, presumably, soeone to have a family with (who will have their own agenda, presumably). So, do both!
Hello Neil
Loving this month’s forecast for Sag, already very spot on for career.
But…any sign of a love life?? Had a hopeful lustful dalliance with a Cancer but was desolate when it didn’t work out…hoping for an improvement, it’s been a desert for years!
(12.12.75)
Looks promising as you have an Aries Moon, and Aries is all action for years to come. If there are no contenders, change your social habitat. Sags must wander!
Dear Neil,
Thanks so much for your usual clarity and eloquence. I’m a Sag (16.12.66, Virgo rising, Moon in Aquarius) wondering how supportive things look for fertility/conception this autumn. I fell pregnant in April, but unfortunately it ended in early June (eclipse time).
Also would like to mention that I have now given “True as the Stars Above” as a gift twice – loved it.
I’m no expert on fertility cycles, though i do believe there is an astrological perspective that can be useful. Saturn’s out your way which is a good start. There seems to be a window of birth opportunity in one’s forties, but that’s just personal observation. So glad you liked the book.
Hi Neil
Many thanks as always for your fabulous efforts.
I am a Scorpio (12.11.1968), embroiled in a on/off relationship with a slippery Piscean (17.03.1963). Breaking point seems to have been reached (once more), but I’m intrigued by the influence of Chiron in his scope this month. Ask the questions by all means, but how long should it really take to come up with the answer?
Your charts make a good fit. You have the more difficult time this winter (a Saturnhalf return), while he’s largely off the hook! Chiron is in the early degrees of Pisces so not affecting him so directly. I think you get an answer to your questions around your birthday.
Neil, excellent forecast many thanks. Just wondering, I’m a Taurus and have been going through severe career troubles. Waiting on a potential job opening – do the stars see anything favourable in this?
Yes. This is a good time for Taureans (thank Jupiter) and for their job prospects. You should get some sense out of your situation in the next fortnight.
