Your Stars New Moon June 1 2011
Posted on 04 June 2011
The change between the adjacent signs of Taurus and Gemini is an abrupt one; the former earthy and steady, the latter airy and mercurial. In June these two constellations contain much of the astrological action. Today’s Gemini new Moon is followed by Mercury, Venus and Mars moving from The Bull’s skies into those assigned to The Twins – respectively on the 3rd, 10th and 21st.
Other celestial events lend this month astrological significance. A partial solar eclipse at today’s new Moon is the first, while a total eclipse of the full Moon on 15 June is an even bigger deal for planet-watchers, and for anyone born on 15 June or 16/17 December. Eclipses aren’t always as disruptive as their long-standing reputation suggests, but a total eclipse is at the least a jaw-dropper when it’s visible, which it will be across much of the planet, though not North America.
For those interested, NASA’s website is hugely informative about eclipses (there’s another partial solar eclipse on July 1st). Astronomy is fascinating, its Achilles heel being that all the amazing things it describes and shows are, according to the likes of TV professor Brian Cox, utterly without meaning.
More conceptual is the arrival of Jupiter in the section of the sky attributed to Taurus in the tropical zodiac. The giant planet takes a year to traverse each zodiac sign but spends until next March going back and forth over the early degrees of the sign; big news for April-born Bulls.
The apparent change of direction by Saturn on June 13 is just as important for the four cardinal signs – Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn, especially birthdays 31 March, 2 July, 4 October and 1 January. Those born July-August 1952 and September-October 1981 will also be under Saturn’s none too subtle hammer this month. What’s the iron planet’s message? Simple: get real!
Finally, let’s not forget the summer solstice, which arrives at 5.16 pm GMT (6.16 British Summer Time), the longest day and shortest night being traditional times for revelry and enchantment. Even Prof. Cox should be able to sign up for that.
Apologies for being late with this forecast, but circumstances have conspired against punctuality.
Gemini
Va-va voom. A Gemini new Moon is just the start of a breathless month. Newsbringer Mercury, the Twins’ ruler, flashes through your skies in a mere two weeks (until 16 June), and is joined by Venus (on the 10th) and Mars (on the 21st) – potentially significant dates given their square to Neptune, the mysterioso planet sitting at the apex of your solar chart.
Whatever plans you wish to launch or advance are favoured under these stars, though a total eclipse in your opposite number, Sagittarius, on the 15th is time for wait-and-see rather than fanfare, and is certainly a no-no for discussions of a personal nature, unless, that is, you are planning to turn a current partner into an ‘ex’.
Venus smiles on parties, shopping, romance and well-dressed languor. Not that you’ll be flopping around on satin cushions for long, there’s an element of urgency to these planets. The turn round of Saturn in a fellow air sign adds a constructive, materialist focus to what might otherwise be just good ideas and high jinks. It’s a time to get plans off the drawing board and into action, and to try to bring ongoing schemes to tangible fruition.
Saturn also has a say in affairs of the heart, ensuring that the bonds between you and your beloved/dancing partner/current crush can outlast the honeymoon stage. There’s a flavour of ‘for better or for worse’ about Saturn, and if you aren’t prepared for the occasional spot of turbulence in romance, or the thrill, as B.B. King puts it, has gone, then this looks like prime time to cut your losses and walk.
Mars, in the last week of the month (and throughout July) similarly favours a robust attitude to both your personal life and your professional interests. As pointed out last week, your flock of associates is subject to change – hopefully of a refreshing kind – this spring and summer. A little more of a leadership role is appropriate this month.
Auspicious day of the moth: Friday the 10th offers a winning mix of the tough and tender.
Cancer
Cancer is a sign that is much involved with the past – not necessarily public history but personal history, as if life’s experiences must be digested thoroughly before they can be allowed to let go. This month you can wallow in your past but only up to a point.
Planets crowding your twelfth house do favour evaluating old times, and the exposure of the odd grinning skeleton from its usually closed cupboard. That the Crab’s ruling body, the Moon, undergoes a total eclipse mid-month accentuates the feeling that one or other event or person has to be re-evaluated, perhaps exposed, the karmic considerations calibrated before you move on.
Because move on you must. The arrival of Mercury on the 17th quickens the beat of your horoscope and promises useful contacts on the international front (examine any gift horses with care, however). Midsummer’s day, always an important day in the Cancerian calendar, has a similar message, and the last ten days of June ring bells of all kinds, as planets Pluto, Prometheus, Jupiter and Saturn are brought into the celestial matrix by the passage of the mighty Sun through your skies.
For those of you born in June in particular (though it applies to all Cancerians) this looks like a vital time. If you are not pro-active – i.e. you’re still immersed in volume two of Recherche des Temps Perdu or intrigued by the peculiarities of your navel – you will either get a wake-up call, or miss out on an opportunity. Band the drum on your own behalf, put proposals to people who matter, force the pace on a property deal, take a risk with a creative project but don’t be passive.
Those who are born in June remain face to face with Pluto – not always the easiest of times as said planet often represents seemingly intractable (if not downright sinister) forces. If so, resist the temptation to play dirty yourself stay as independent as possible. If you have a relationship in meltdown – another Plutonic scenario – resist the temptation to bully or coerce the other party, and vice versa.
On a positive note, Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus/Prometheus all promise win-win situations for those on the make. Saturn stationary near the root of your ‘scope may signal the need or chance to tackle long-running issues involving that most sacred of Cancerian concerns, your home. Certainly any hint of security here should be confronted, as a Crab without a shell makes easy pickings.
Auspicious days of the month: the 21st (after 6.16 pm) and the 22nd, though fishy deals are strictly off the menu.
Leo
How’s the love life coming along? Two eclipses across the axis of social and romantic relationships – and the odd point where the two bleed into each other – suggest a shake-up (or something more drastic) is the realm of your affections, and of your willingness to be tied to one particular person, or perhaps an entire social scene.
If that’s the case, you’ll almost certainly know about in your heart of hearts, as what one might call the destiny (or karmic) factor clings to eclipse points. Since eclipses are a disruption of business-as-usual, you can also look upon this month’s events as a chance to wipe the slate clean and start over with a friendship or love affair. With Venus buzzing the same point in your ‘scope on June 29th, someone with whom you have a warm bond may also pop up out of nowhere.
In any and all cases, this is a month (and it extends into July) when your community of colleagues and your friendship circle have a particular and helpful role to play. Networking unashamedly (do you know any other way, Leo?) is par for this particular course.
The arrival of Jupiter – the big-shot in the planetary canon, el presidente himself (unless you occupy said position) – at the very apex of your solar scope is another reason to put your radiant presence into the public realm. This is a long term scenario – Jupiter spends an entire year in this, the zone of your ‘scope concerned with career and life path – but the period until just after your birthday looks particularly promising.
Two other heavyweight planets – Saturn and Uranus/Prometheus – remain handily on your side, likewise favouring self-advertisement and communication to the world at large. Any projects involving the digital realm, like your web site or a dot-com career move – are much favoured. If you are on a long haul flight, or even a modest pootle around the locality – something out of the ordinary or career oriented might be involved.
The final week of the month brings a different theme into play. Public presence or not, downtime is important to keep your batteries charged as your proceed. Don’t burn out.
Auspicious day of the month: the 6th should put you in touch with someone, or an event, that’s helpful.
Virgo
Change of mood, change of pace. June’s pair of eclipses fall at the top and bottom of your solar ‘scope, respectively signalling a hotting up in your work outlook and a changed out look on the domestic front, the latter particularly for birthdays circa September 17th.
All of you, however, should be giving maximum consideration to your career, as the Sun, Venus and Mars all confront you with the chance/need to put in a burst of energy there. Mercury, Virgo’s quicksilver ruler, also transits your professional zone, bringing rapid-fire developments. Agility and organisation – among Virgo’s greatest assets – are called for.
There’s a helpful, co-operative spirit in play here, though the last ten days of the month also demand a readiness to act or work alone if necessary. Both your work and your financial situation now emerge from a period of uncertainty, and the quicker you nail down arrangements the better. With Neptune involved in your affairs this month, especially deals you are making with a business partner, you’ll need to nail down particulars with Virgoan thoroughness, going through contracts with well sharpened pencil.
The arrival of ‘lucky’ Jupiter in your solar ninth house is good news, the planet bringing with it an expansionist, international flavour. If you’re mixed up in publishing or education, this month, and the entire next year, look glowing. Saturn, stationary in your cash zone, emphasises the need for responsible, pragmatic financial arrangements…though you doubtless have those already neatly filed.
Your love life has more prominence in the final stretch of June, as the Sun makes contact with Pluto and reawaken scenarios and pledges from earlier in the year (particularly, January and February). Here, however, there’s far more action to come in July, when another eclipse brings a change to the storyline.
Auspicious day of the month: Wednesday the 8th puts you in the driving seat, whatever the concern.
Libra
Sailing through stormy seas with the hatches battened down? Or infused with fresh belief in your powers and eager to shape your destiny alone if necessary?
Saturn, the celestial body that dominates your ‘scope, contains both scenarios. The ringed planet is stationary all month, a pint of particular pressure and decision, especially for birthdays circa October 4. Even if you currently feel somewhat powerless in the face of events – or people who are frankly a pain in the rear but who mysteriously hold the whip hand over you, a superior mortal – a resolution that you will take responsibility for your situation and get pro-active is all important. Saturn remains on Libra’s case for some time, and its advance for the rest of the year signals a chance to make a breakthrough.
You’ll need all your energy and determination of course, but you are not helpless, and a new Moon in Gemini – a kindred air sign – and the transit of Mercury, Venus and mars through the Twins’ skies promise a more easeful, open passage of play than you have recently enjoyed.
Since this month’s eclipses fall across your axis of communication and journeys, travel, if you can find space and money for it, deliver a more open, malleable atmosphere as June and July progress. Libra is a naturally social animal, but staying hooked in to your personal circle of well-wishers helps your cause more than usual.
Romance, if you have time for it, looks racier as June progresses. With the recent slew of planets in opposition are gone, the chances of conflict decrease. If you’re in the coils of a troubled long-term affair, remember Saturn is about taking responsibility, not shifting it.
The summer solstice brings the mighty Sun to the pinnacle of your solar chart, which together with Saturn’s onward march signals a renewed assault on professional matters, and the chance to either push your name into the corporate echelons or at least find gainful employment. With the Sun forming a triangle with the intransigent energies of Pluto and Uranus/Prometheus, the last week of the month is a potentially pivotal in shaping your affairs, especially for September birthdays.
Auspicious day of the month: Friday the 10th empowers you.
Scorpio
The important action in your ‘scope concerns significant others…or others who are insignificant now but who will play a more important role in your life over the next year. Jupiter’s shift into opposition this weekend highlights all one-on-one relationships for the next year, not only romantic and marital ties but those involving business partners, bridge partners or any other double act.
Jupiter is usually thought of as ‘lucky’, and it may well be that partnerships supply more excitement and good fortune, though it has to be a true blend of interests for one and one to add up to three. Alternatively, a teacher may arrive with the capacity to enrich you emotionally, may be even financially. Taureans, always an interesting fir for you, being your opposite number 9and earth to your water), can have an especially prominent role.
But Jupiter is also the planet of freedom, and outworn associations are found out under the aegis of the planet’s transit. Those of you born in the early days of your sign won’t have to wait long to discover what’s in store. All Scorpios remain in a game of relationship tennis, with the ball is in the other person’s court. Your planet, Mars (forget Pluto as your ruler unless you like to play tings dark), remains in opposition until the 20th, and you are, for now, on the back foot. Good month for Scorpios propping up the singles bar, however.
The more cryptic side of your relationships – the stuff that goes on when no-one’s looking, and the precise terms of your financial set-up – are under emphasis (perhaps strain) throughout June and beyond. A pair of eclipses across your financial axis suggest you open all those envelopes from your bank or mortgage provider, just to ensure you haven’t been made insolvent.
The summer solstice sees you coming up for air – Cancer is a kindred water sign – and the final ten days of the month have a more upbeat air. Good time for an excursion, far or near.
Auspicious day of the month: the 12th, beginning once the small hours kick in at around 1.30 a.m. Could be a long Saturday night.
Sagittarius
Though a total lunar eclipse in one’s sign can mean a wipe-out, but you’re better off considering it as a wipe clean, a chance to slough off whatever moods and associations you care to lose. The full Moon days 14th and 15th are days to tippity toe around anyway, bearing in mind it’s your turn to star in your own version of the ‘Thriller’ video, and you don’t want to be scaring the neighbours or your nearest and dearest.
Planets in opposition – you have ‘em all month – invariably call for compromise with significant others, who tend to have a more than usually active role in precipitating events. This is unlikely to be the strongest month in your calendar, so roll with the punches and bide your time, unless hyper active Venus introduces you to people whose number you really have to get.
Crazy cats and kittens with whom you have become entangled in recent months (not the steady main squeeze then) continue to have an electric quality, to which you cannot, sigh, help but respond.
If you are in the creative industries, or are in any sense a creator/artist, you remain on a roll. Bold innovation plays better than playing safe. Whatever your line of work, Saturn’s turn round mid month calls for a conscious effort to integrate with your professional team and those ‘colleagues’ higher up the totem pole. Put your maverick streak (well, not so much a streak, more a way of life) on hold or reserve it for your personal life. If you’re looking to get ahead, the next six months work in your favour.
Auspicious days of the month: 23 and 24, especially for romantics.
Capricorn
On cruise control, or at the start of something big?
For those of you born in December, your stars are fairly screaming the latter case. The rest of you …well, there’s never much of a coffee break for any Capricorn, but let’s say your stars are less urgent, unless you were born in the years of nineteen hundred and ’52, ‘68 or ’81, in which case you can count yourself a member of the Saturn Reconstruction Club, more of which later.
There are jolly plots afoot for all in June however. The arrival of Jupiter, planet of largesse, in your fifth house this week is a signal that matters of the heart will demand a far more prominent place over the next twelve months, not just love affairs but kids, grandchildren, personal passions/obsessions, and downright showing off. With Venus and Mars briefly in the same zone – in Taurus, fellow earth sign – June looks just the ticket for a spot of self-advertisement and partying.
You might also factor in some me-time of the mind/body/spirit kind. The total lunar eclipse of the 15th falls in the most private, reclusive sector of your ‘scope, where the reckoning is between you and your conscience/karma/creator and, frankly, no-one else’s business. A perfect time, in short, to confront skeletons in the closet and put in a spot of selfless service to deserving souls in your orbit.
Confrontation of a different sort arrives with the summer solstice, when the Sun shifts into your opposing yet associated sign of Cancer. The implications of next month’s eclipse in said sign will follow, enough to say that the Sun’s opposition to Pluto on the 28th is not the time to try and bully anyone, especially anyone close to you.
Pluto! Don’t be fooled by the loveable cartoon hound named after it, or astronomy’s downgrade of it – Pluto is the planet of players and plutocrats. Birthdays up to December 29 have already had a taste of its transformative powers, which can elevate and enrich or meltdown. In the former case, use your power wisely. In the latter, confront the darkness and reclaim the light (psychology can help).
Saturn, Capricorn’s no-nonsense governor, turns to forward motion after several months in retreat. For most of you this is either business as usual with added responsibilities, but those in the reconstruction Club (see above) are at a pivotal point when the consequences of decisions count for years rather than months. How much change do you want, and in what area of your life? Fearless honesty provides the right answers.
Auspicious day of the month: the 16th and 17th. Good for business at least.
Aquarius
This looks more like it. The annual new Moon in your fifth house – high rolling, parties, romance, kids – is always a cue for spirits to lighten. The arrival of Venus from the 9th and Mars from the 21st just increases the propensity for eyelash-batting, roistering and similar teen-like behaviour.
On a more serious note, those of you engaged with creative crafts can get inspired to do classy, spontaneous work. If you’re in show business, show out. If you’re a wannabe, upgrade your pose. If you’re in a heart-led relationship, June is certainly a month when authentic, open communication is possible (perhaps unavoidable), with the lunar eclipse of the 15th being a possible point of reckoning for love affairs that have become over-heated, or (gulp) duplicitous.
Is it all sunshine and surfing? Of course not. Saturn’s turn round at mid-month is a signal that long term ambitions with consequences – property deals, anything professional – are back in play, especially for late January birthdays in June, but for almost all Aquarians over the next six months. As Saturn is in co-operative mood, you can get what you want providing you want it badly enough and are prepared to put in the necessary effort. Here, perspiration helps as much as inspiration.
The shift of another major planet, Jupiter to the root of your’ scope has – as delineated last month’s forecast – implications for those of you who want to relocate, expand your premises or reshape your living arrangements. In the short term, wielding a bristling new broom around your back yard, however you define it, is appropriate.
Auspicious weekend of the month: the 18th and 19th allow maximum blag, bling and bravado.
Pisces
Home is, it’s much rumoured, where the heart is, the catch being that you have to have a home to begin with. Today’s solar eclipse at the root of your ‘scope accentuates the importance of having a place of refuge and security. June’s flurry of planets in Gemini should assist those you on the search for such a spot, and help those you with more than one home to decide to which you should devote yourself. Alternatively, there may be one particular passenger in your flat/warehouse/yurt who needs to be politely (not too politely) shown the exit.
The partner eclipse to that at today’s new moon is the lunar wipe-out at the peak of your ‘scope on June 15th, hopefully spelling a career breakthrough or offer from out of the blue, or a chance to re-invent your professional act. Here, however, it’s a case of waiting and watching rather than planning.
Those of you born on February 19/20 might also consider what the brief presence Neptune on your Sun has brought you. While some astrologers will promise you an excursion into mystic realms, you might consider the more practical manifestations of Neptune – building your reputation as something of a star, getting slippy with problems and people that dog you, and deciding if someone who is slippy themselves is any longer worth your time and energy. String drink etc, another Neptunian association, is best avoided.
Planets in Taurus – including your all-important governor, Jupiter, meanwhile highlight the joys of floating around with your gang, making pacts with siblings (even those with whom you’re somewhat estranged), and putting yourself around the ‘hood.
Midsummer’s day, marking the Sun’s arrival in Cancer, a kindred water sign, opens a promising few days for you, both in financial terms and in maters of the heart. Good time to take a chance on a new lover if you’re single, or to deepen/end a relationship if you’re hitched.
Auspicious day of the month: June 21st, midsummer’s night, favours you as artist, healer and lover. Take your pick.
Aries
Relentless? You bet. Even if you aren’t the one that’s making waves, surfing those made by others looks a full time job. Unless you have a date with a spa or a sun-kissed foreign shore, June doesn’t offer much by the way of rest. Actually, with a pair of eclipses across your ‘scope’s travel zone, travel is as likely to conjure life-changing scenarios as downtime.
Jupiter’s exit from your sign after an all-too brief stay does, however, calm things down a little, and together with your Mars ruler in Taurus promises to earth you, if only to start facing a financial scenario you’d likely rather ignore. The good news here is that finding more cash looks suspiciously easy, the counter balance being that you’re prone to spend it as fast as it comes in.
Planets zipping through Gemini certainly don’t spell much time in the garden hammock. A hyperactive social life, a phone ringing non-stop and, if you’re single, more dates than you can handle all for the frame however.
The last ten days of June are likely to prove the business end of the month, as the Sun squares Uranus Prometheus in your sign, and then Saturn in your complementary number, Libra. This is a pot when push comes to shove, and either you shove back (you’re good at that) or decide that the game in which you’re involved isn’t worth your energies and talents.
Those of you born in the first few days of your sign, say until March 25, are those feeling the odd energies symbolised by planet Prometheus; disruptive? Possibly? Exciting? Likely. Out of left field? Almost certainly. Since there’s plenty more to come over the next nine months, best accommodate what might be described as a new paradigm.
Very few Rams are escaping the steely touch of Saturn. With said planet now resuming forward motion, problems with grumpy partners/ mean bosses/tiresome parents/skinflint bankers (delete to fit) are there to be solved in the coming months – or in June if your birthday is late March/early April.
Meanwhile, go with what the rappers term ‘your flow’.
Auspicious day of the month: Sunday June 5 looks a nice fit.
Taurus
For self-evident reasons, Taureans aren’t always happy about comparisons with their totem creature. However, being ‘bullish’ is absolutely the way to go in June. Venus, your planet, and Mars passing through until the 10th and 20th respectively lend radiance to your charms and muscle to your, uh, more forceful side. Whether you’re in the business of attracting a lover, telling one where to alight, or grabbing yourself a piece of the professional action, don’t hold back.
Then there’s the arrival of Jupiter; by tradition the ‘greater fortune’ and in modern parlance ‘lucky’, though the planet is also about freedom, even if ‘liberation’ sometimes comes in an (initially) unwanted fashion. Those of you born 20-25 April may care to monitor this month’s events especially closely as Jupiter will be repeating its transit during the darkest winter months. All Taureans can rewind 12 and 24 years to draw comparisons with the last time the planet was in your realm.
Jupiter has quite an array of associations – learning, law, publishing, organised religion, easy money, international travel – all of which come with promise now and over the next 12 months. Clearly, it’s time to get extra busy. With Mercury active in your travel zone in the second half of the month, you could well be
Best not too carried away by the prospect of that easy money, though – for starters Jupiter is a notorious spendthrift, for another a total eclipse of the Moon in your zone of shared cash suggests you keep a sharp eye on what’s already in your account.
Auspicious day of the month: 26 June, with a Moon-Jupiter conjunction in your skies, looks promising, albeit perfect for ‘going over the top’.

Dear Neil,
Thank you very much for your well-written and insightful horoscopes, I love reading them. I am Cancerian (21 July 71) with ascendant cancer (2.45, which feels like a double whammy at times. Do the stars of my new year predict anything that specifically needs to catch my attention in this arduous process of breaking out of my shell? It’s a double-one it seems, where change does not seem to come easy. That stone keeps rolling back..
Many thanks for your advice,
Sysiphus
You also appear to have Moon in Cancer, so a triple whammy. Very powerful (esp. for a woman) but somewhat obstinate. I suspect the next six months, with Saturn heavil involved, will bring a shift. The planetary message is change if you want it!
July horoscopes please
Here! Not because it’s July, bit because it’s a new Moon.
Thanks Neil!
How are Taurean love lives looking over the next 6 months?
At the moment it feels (happily) about being playful and independent with a few intense moments/inappropriate crushes thrown in for good measure…likely to continue or anything more serious on the horizon?
Not that there feels too much time or headspace for such things!
I’m a 08/05/1981 Taurus – Saturn Return…last year has been something of a rollercoaster but the dust seems to be settling a little now. How long does a Saturn Return last?
Thanks again for your time and effort!

How long does a Saturn Return last? Good question. About a year. Or as long as saturn is in the sign it was at birth. After that, the rest of your days!
Hello Neil,
March 11 Pisces here – goodness me, how accurate can you be: ‘career breakthrough or offer from out of the blue’. Got back to the UK earlier in the week with an amazing offer of a job overseas. This all fell into place between early June and the 21st.
Now I just have to decide whether to take it or not! Massive international move, uprooting wife and children, totally different culture, Middle East, big promotion, adventure vs staying put, stability for family, safest part of the UK, same job which I love, predictability.
My gut (which I use to think with far more than my brain) tells me that this move is virtually guaranteed to be successful and just screams ‘opportunity’.
What do the stars say, please? Any long term (5 years?) predictions? Or is that hoping too much?
Very many thanks.
Sounds like you have made up your mind. The question with such decisions is ‘What happens if i don’t take it? Will I live in regret?’ That usually solves it!
I read your brilliant column with great interest but this month I’m lost Neil. The promise of new venture presented by the eclipse is not materialising in a viable way. (too much fantasy, not enough £ to pay the bills). My career has taken a plunge but I’m entirely lost for a sense of direction and have no idea how to change my luck and this career funk which has been going on for a while now. Any ideas? Please advise?
Claire (21/02/69)
I see two strong factors at work. First, Saturn in Libra opposes your natal Saturn in Aries…you are half way round the second saturn cycle, and at 41/42 you lso get to the halfway point of a Uranus *4 year cycle. It’s a pivotal age, when a second wind arrives, but it’s often a time of upheaval. I think by the time Saturn has got to the end of Libra (at the close of the year) you will have found your new groove, but little involving Saturn comes easy. Plus we all live in straitened times (a whole other story). What you are going throgh stems from the decisions made when you were 30, and is analogous to that period.
secondly, neptune has been lurking over your Piscean Sun, and while this planet can bring glamour and recognition, it’s also a planet of confusion. It’s almost out your frame for now, which i hope helps, but since it will be back next year, it’s worth examining recent events closely for clues. I suspect you had a very positive devlopment in 2004, and that also is a clue to how to take things onwards.
Hi Neil. Happy solstice, and thank you for your brilliant and much appreciated forecasts. Maybe a daft question, but I wondered whether your Cancer horoscope, which flags wariness towards fishy deals over the coming days could also gesture towards relations with Pisceans?! I’m a Piscean involved in a slightly baffling relationship with a Cancerian, that I would really like to address. Many thanks again for your generosity each month.
Sorry for the delay in responding. Hmmm, well do nothing this weekend, there’s a an eclipse in Cancer!
Hi Neil
Thank you for your reading. Sounds etremely promising for a single Scorpio. However a technical question. I am born on the 24th of October, just where the star sign goes into Scorpio. I have heard that if you are born in the beginning of a sign you can possess both. So, Do I also have Libra in me, and how much?
I am born on the 24th Oct and noon 1973.
Many thanks
Signe
First thing, check your birth time if possible. Noon sounds too easy. Second, get yourself a free birth chart from one of the online sites that offer them (astrodienst I believe, and stariq). A quick look tells me you are a Scorpio Sun, end of. But yes, you do have a Libran element, not because you are ‘on the cusp’ (no-one is!) but because you have a Moon in Libra. Moon conjunct Pluto actually. Intense!
Thank you for your continued forecasts. I am currently trying to conceive and have been encountering difficulties. Are there any signs of new arrivals in my sign. I am a virgo, 18th Sept 1976.
Many thanks and kindest wishes,
B
I am no expert on fertility cycles, though there are several astrologers who seem quite good at advice on conception. It’s worth getting a full birth chart done and looking at what’s going on in the 5th house. Shop around…and keep trying!
Neil,
I have been clueless about my long term goals for a long time. Although I have heard a lot about getting more clarity since Neptune has left my sign, but I am still clueless. Is my situation likely to change?
I also can’t say the recent eclipses have made any changes to my life (yet). Can there be a time lag?
My birthday is 25/1
There is usually a time lapse with eclipses. You weren’t in direct line of the recent ones in any case. Please don’t be clueless. Talk to people who canhelp – career advice professionals, therapists, even astrologers. Energy expended usually brings some kind of positive response.
Hi Neil,
Thanks for your forecast. I am a cancer and thinking of foregoing the safety of a regular job to start a new venture. Too risky at the moment?
Thanks,
Helen
Depends…on how risk averse you are and how good an idea your venture is! It’s an unforgiving economic climate. Looking at it astrologically, I would wait until after the July 1st eclipse before you jump ship and start your new venture. August is a no-no for start-ups thanks to Mercury retrograde. Saturn marching onwards makes anytime else OK for brave Cancerians…which they have to be.
Does my location, e.g. Northern hemisphere vs southern hemisphere, affect the accuracybof my horoscope prediction?
Yes and no. Your particular view of the heavens changes – night is day and v.v. – but the planets are in the same place in the sky.
Neil,
I’m an Aries. Where’s all this verve and vim you predicted? I’ve been [artistically] working away getting nowhere for so long now its starting to get ridiculous. An artist is never poor, sure, but I was hoping for a Jupiter break. Does my everything-else-in-gemini-and-pisces got something to do with it?
An artist is OFTEN poor, more’s the pity. Sorry to hear Jupiter did nothing for you. Saturn IS opposite Rams and Saturn in opposition is invariably challenging (and feels like it goes on forever). I like the sound of everything else in Gem and Pisces, however, signs largely in the pink right now. Anyway, you’re an artist, you have to march on regardless, right?
Hi Neil,
Thanks! really enjoy your horoscopes and writing. I am a cancer sun moon in leo, been busting my arse to get my business up and running and keep running into walls that hurt……what is the story, any help from the stars would be appreciated.
best
Cancer Sun Moon in Leo huh? Formidable! What astrologers call mutual reception (ie Sun rules Leo, Moon rules Cancer so the two are like partners). Saturn is squaring Cancer (and Pluto may be challenging if you are a June Crab). On no account lose heart. Even Saturn doesn’t go on forever, but it would be very useful to identify when saturn is making its precise aspects to your Sun (point of maximum eight). When’s yr birthday?
Hi Neil,
Thank you for your monthly horoscope.
I left my previous job several months ago because it was disbalanced, unnessarily confrontational, without progress and destroyed my health. By leaving I also walked away from someone I love, the language barrier between us created a lack of clarity on his situation, so even though it was a peaceful relationship I often questioned how stable. I tried my best to get another job near by so that I could be with him (too figure things out) but it didn’t happen.
I really want to sort out my life and achieve/ learn things. However, after another unsucessful interview I am wondering, should I have stayed at my previous post?
Please Help! I feel like I have just survived battle!!
Those last five words are very telling…you survived! You clearly could not have stayed another day in that job so don’t go second guessing your decision (soooo Libran – I shoulda done this, i shouldn’t have done that). Your job situation is one thing, your love life another.
Hi Neil,
I’m a Scorpio (October 24th) and I have been offered an opportunity to work in Africa but I am so unsure about it, I have been dreaming about going to Africa for such a long time but now I have the chance I’m worried about being scared of being so far from home, finances (which are great)and leaving a good a steady job to live my dream, also family not too keen either. Do the stars have anything to say about this?
Melanie
For a 24 October Scorpio…Jupiter has just moved opposite. Jupiter is the planet of safaris, internationalism, big ideas, adventure. So although it IS in opposition, those issues now raise their heads forcibly. Here’s the opportunity you have dreamed of and now you have ‘the fear’ about jumping off the high board. Understandable. But if if you don’t jump, will you ever forgive yourself? I suspect not. I also suspect you are around 30 years old and facing your Saturn Return. Simple fact; if you hate it, you can always come home. I suspect you won’t and you won’t!
I like what you wrote about Brian Cox who says astrology is’utter rubbish’, but he also says that scientists only know what 4% of matter actually is because the rest is black matter and unknown. While he has got so much acclaim, you are right that his vision lacks meaning like a magnificent set without characters. It would be great if astrology was given air time just like astronomy. Thankyou for the horoscope this month- thought provoking as usual.
Thanks for the engaging predictions Neil – just wondering, I’m waiting on a job offer at the minute. Do the stars indicate anything positive here? I’m a Taurus. Cheers, John.
‘Lucky’ Jupiter just arrived in Taurus, so your luck is hopefully in.
Hi Neil, thanks for the forecast, I’m a Gemini, (June 2nd) so far this year it has been pretty bad for me, redundancy being the worst, plus the love life has been dull to say the least!
Will the eclipses change all that?
. Redundancies – you’re not alone (bankers excepted), but at least a new Moon and eclipse next to your birthday Sun promises a new chapter. The love life – you’re a Gemini, redouble your social round! The weekend of the 18th looks canny in that respect (Venus is with you).
Dear Neil,
My relationship with a close friend has suffered a severe blow since late last year. No reconciliation yet and my friend doesn’t seem to care. All my horoscope predictions in the last few months have been about my home but it isn’t what is troubling me at the moment. When will I see resolution?
A desperate Aquarian
The current month favours friendships for Aquarians, including reconciliations, but there are two parties involved, and it sounds like the other party has made their mind up.
Dear Neil:
Happy June to you! Thanks again for your wonderful horoscopes, I am always looking forward to them.
Best wishes
Leslie
Ah how my heart leaps when Neil Spencer’s erudite, beautifully crafted Your Stars drops into my inbox…
Would like to thank you Neil for continuing to put out the free e-news alerts and carrying on with the blog forecasts. I find your readings and encouragement uncannily helpful and very much appreciate that you find the time and resources to offer it for FREE. Very much obliged.
Thanks Neil – very relevant to me at the moment, as an early Scorpio (Oct.29th) with a developing significant other on the end of the computer. Interesting.
Oi! What’s happened to Virgo? Cancer is yet again spot on – regrettably. Does the fun never cease…? Much obliged for all your efforts on our behalf.
Sorry, the wordpress which powers me (proudly) managed to erase the heading. I set it right.
Hi Neil,
Thanks for keeping up your brilliant forecasts they’re really appreciated. I’m a late born taurean (May 14th) with a capricorn ascendant and sagittarius moon. The last couple of years have been pretty unstable career wise but things finally seem to be looking up (although I don’t want to count m chickens before they hatch, obviously). Any advice about what to bear in mind this month?
If you know the degrees of your Moon and ascendant I’d check to see if the lunar eclipse (at 24.23 Sag) and Saturn (currently 10.30 in Libra) respectively conjunct and square these points.
my moon is Moon Sagittarius 16°25’27 in house 11 direct and my ascendant is Ascendant Capricorn 3°50’57 – is this good or bad?!
They are as good or bad as you make them! (typical astrologer’s answer). Your Moon isn’t in the firing line of this week’s eclipse. Your Ascendant at 3.50 means that last year Pluto crossed it, which is a potential moment of transformation. Pluto is an all-or-nothing affair in my experience, and you clearly sailed through it. With a Taurus Sun and Cap Ascendant, you seem unlikely to ever stop until you have reached your personal higher ground. With Jupiter and Pluto in force this year and next, you might get there sooner rather than later. Whatever ‘it’ is…go for it!
Reading your email Q&A with Sara makes me wonder how detailed do I need to be in order to make the most out of astrology. If I don’t know things like ascendant, moon, etc, am I wasting my time even reading my horoscope?
I obviously hope you are not wasting your time reading Sun sign forecasts, but they are inevitably a broad brush stroke compared to looking at an individual chart. Getting a chart drawn up used to be a big, time-consuming deal. Now you can get one free online. Stariq.com do them I believe, likewise astrodienst. Ascendants and Moons are, after one’s Sun, the most important and sensitive spots in a horoscope, so it’s handy to know where one’s are.
Hi Neil
Thanks so much for these. I’m so so glad things are lightening up for me (and other virgos). After a few years of utter turmoil and appearing to only master the art of banging my head against various concrete walls life and opportunities seem to be opening up. I’m so ready to master another art now! thanks again. Happy june to you!
Mary
