Your Stars March

Posted on 28 February 2010

I always wrote my Observer horoscopes in the expectation that they would be read over the Sunday breakfast table, so it’s appropriate that my first on-line column is also appearing on a Sunday (and on a full Moon). You can access it by clicking on the page link above.

I realise that a monthly forecast isn’t quite as immediate as a weekly. The jury is still out on putting up weekly forecasts, but I will be writing an astrological commentary every Sunday, even if it’s not sign-by-sign.

I have been truly touched by all the messages of support and gratitude that have flooded in since the cessation of my Observer horoscopes. I have updated some of your prolific input, though the excellent Wordpress software allows just 15 comments to be displayed. I’ll try to keep them turning over, in tune with Mercury, the original word-presser.

I too was a real fan of your Observer Column, used to read it online though. Keep going, looking forward to hearing what april is going to bring!

    Neil,
your Observer column was the first thing I would read at sunday breakfast and I was very disappointed when I realised it was not there anymore.
Many thanks for continuing to carry the flag.
For sure this is the best written horoscope column in the UK and although I know that an astrologer needs more info than just somebodies birthday, when I read my sun sign and ASC interpretation often it feels spookily accurate – it really captures the zeitgeist of the week.
    Many thanks again

Don’t usually follow horoscopes, but yours are so accurate, that I used to buy the Observer just for your horoscope. As usual, a couple of weeks ago, I looked immediately on the last but one page….and…nothing…no horoscope page. So glad that you are now on-line. Thank you.

The observer is a slight affair without your excellent horoscopes – just discovered the website, good as yours are the only horoscopes I read. Thanks for giving them!!

  • Alison Angus says:

I too am devastated by the loss of your predictions on a Sunday. You have always been so acurate with my Gemini horoscope, especially this year ahead reading, don’t think the Obsever Mags the same x

Always looked forward to your horoscopes, one of the highlights of the Observer mag. Gutted you’ve been dropped, bad decision (and new layout is awful).
    Good luck for the future

I would also like to know if you would consider doing a personal reading?

Thanks, and thanks again for broadcasting your marvellously incisive and well-written sun sign readings from here.

    Glad to help Pam!

    Dear Neil,

i’m a scorpio and virgo born on the 29 October 1966, could you please tell me what’s going to happen for myself this month and if i can get a suitable job for myself do the stars say i would need to move abroad?
    Many thanks,
    Alessandro

    Hi Neil,
thanks for posting your Horoscopes for March – triffic. Do you or would you consider doing a personal reading? (for a fee obviously)

I infer that Mr. Spencer no longer writes for the Guardian, though I have seen no formal announcement to that effect, since his column has not been updated since mid-February and we have now this very welcome Website. Thank you for the latter, Mr. Spencer.

One wonders whether the Guardian deeply regrets his departure, seeing his column listed in the top five “Most Viewed in Life and Style” every day since it first went missing . . . ironic, that.

thank you!! just the first line of the scorpio forecast made me feel so much better…sunday is now sunday again!

I posted to the Obs site last week that yours was the most intelligent, well written and accurate sun sign astrology out there in mainstream media – am even more certain of that now after reading this monthly column.

I have studied – as in academically and with rigour – astrology for over 40 years. Your sensitivity and sharp interpretations are unbeaten in astrology journalism. The Obs has shot itself in the foot I fear in discontinuing your column, but I hope you reap the benefits over here. Great to see you back, and thank you for your wisdom, good humour and great writing!

  • Jo says:

Hooray! Brilliant. Thanks Neil. And I have told Twitter you’re back.

I will absorb it again with tomorrow’s *birthday* breakfast too… ;-)
Thanks so much, and I do like the idea of some weekly astrological comments/notes. I will be following…
